PROJECT HEAD
Reports to: Vice President
Location: Paper Unit, Amlai (MP)
Grade would be DGM/AGM
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning
· Lead the Projects organization with responsibility for delivery of projects in line business objectives with a focus on cost, quality and schedule dimensions for project delivery.
· Ensure robust planning, direction, and coordination of activities from concept design to final handover of the project ensuring the project works are within the budgeted time & cost and as per quality standards.
· Management of projects for plant set up, expansion, modernization, installation and commissioning of equipment.
· Managing activities right from the conceptualization stage to the execution; involving finalization of technical specifications, procurement, scheduling, progress monitoring, erection, testing and commissioning, site management, manpower planning & liaising with architects, consultants and contractors.
· Ensuring execution of activities / projects within time & budgetary parameters.
· Reviews client’s specifications for adherence to capabilities and with guidance. Provides production alternatives when necessary.
· Creates and updates project scope for complex individual projects.
· Sets out timelines/schedules & present to the client.
· Status sheets – keep all schedules updated with actual dates for tasks completed.
· Conducts conference calls with clients and attend client facing meetings with Sales/Client Relationship as required. Provides minutes of call/ meeting as a follow-up.
· Confirms all regulatory requirements & processes for all projects; e.g. regulators review cycles. Develops & maintains necessary records & files for efficient operation.
General & Task Management
· Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
· Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility
· Ensure resource availability and allocation
· Recommend best practice
· Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
· Manage changes in the project scope, schedule and costs
· Measure project performance
· Report and escalate to management as needed
· Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
· Perform risk management to minimize project risks
· Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
· Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
· Organize meetings, create agenda, take minutes
Essential Educational Qualifications
· B.Tech/MBA or equivalent experience
· Having a Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate can be helpful
Essential Experience
· Should have 15-20 years of experience of Technical Project Manager experience with gradually increasing responsibilities and a demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, artifacts and tools
